Ballet

Classical Ballet is a disciplined dance form with an emphasis on developing proper body placement, turnout, balance, flexibility and grace. Training begins at the barre with a series of exercises and moves to the center floor to execute various combinations of these exercises.

Combination Classes

This is an introduction to dance for you youngest students 3 - 7 years of age. We offer Tap/Ballet, or Tap/Jazz classes to teach the basic techniques. Students learn the disciplines of dance while having fun and promoting physical coordination and mental concentration. Students get 1/2 hour of each dance form.

Competition Dancers

Competition classes offer an accelerated program for those students who want more serious training and performance opportunities in all aspects of dance. They are required to take an enhanced curriculum including turns and technique.
Team members are selected upon teacher recommendations. Team membership requires dedication and is a commitment for the whole family, which must be willing to travel to competition cities. Extra rehearsals may be required before competitions. Being on a competition team requires additional costs and it must come first among your other activities.

Hip-Hop

This comtemporary dance style combines Jazz, funk, and house dance with popular Hip Hop styles. This is a very energetic class teaching the latest crazes.

Jazz

Jazz was born from African-American roots. It reflects the spirit and mood of contemporary society as seen in rock, hip hop, rhythm and blues. This class develops style, strength, and flexibility. Styles will vary among teachers.

Lyrical

Lyrical is for the intermediate/advanced student that enjoys both jazz and ballet. It instills the same principles but is an expressive form of dance incorporating emotions and elongated movements.

Pas de Deux

Pas De Deux is a class designed to teach male & female ballet dancers the art of partnering.

Pointe

Pointe is for the intermediate and advanced ballet dancer who has developed the proper placement and strength to dance in pointe shoes.

Tap

Tap dancing is an American art form. It was born from the blending of several ethnic percussive dance styles brought to the United States, from Africa, England, Ireland, and Scotland, during the 1800's. Tap continues to evolve with innovative and creative new styles. In Tap, the feet become a percussive instrument, creating rhythmic and syncopated sounds. Tap teaches a sense of rhythm, timing, and precision.

Turns & Technique

An intensive study of jumps, leaps, and a variety of turns with emphasis on proper body alignment, building strength, and developing flexibility. This class is available at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
